The Transport Accident Commission (TAC) is a Victorian Government-owned organisation set up to pay for treatment and benefits for people injured in transport accidents, promote road safety and improve Victoria’s trauma system. The TAC is a ‘no-fault’ scheme and is committed to delivering benefits to people injured in transport accidents in a caring, efficient and responsible way. Working closely with Victoria Police, the Department of Justice and VicRoads, the TAC develops campaigns to increase awareness of road safety issues, change behaviour and reduce the incidence of road trauma. The TAC undertakes to support a range of research activities to improve outcomes for their clients, and has funded a significant portfolio of health, disability and compensation research through the ISCRR collaboration. TAC was a foundation member of the ISCRR partnership.
