Last week we announced that Professor Sarah Anderson has been appointed as ISCRR’s new Director. Sarah will lead the institute’s strategic vision, driving research and initiatives to improve workplace health and safety outcomes. Sarah has over 20 years of experience in healthcare research, policy development, and strategic leadership in the academic, government, and non-government sectors. She holds a PhD in Ergonomics and Human Factors, with a focus on workplace injuries, and has a distinguished record in health, disability and workforce research.

We asked Sarah to share a few facts about herself:

“I love working collaboratively and helping people to work and grow, to spend time doing the things that excel and bring them joy. Making sure the things that have to be done are balanced with things that give people a buzz to come to work each day.”

“I have a range of hobbies; I love the beach and am a volunteer at a surf life-saving club. I love to read and listen to podcasts – although I do this at double speed much to my family’s amusement and/or frustration.”

“I am thrilled to join ISCRR and contribute to the expansion and amplification of the institute’s exceptional work. As an inherently inquisitive individual, I have a passion for learning and comprehending new concepts. I look forward to becoming part of the Monash community, re-establishing connections with research colleagues, further strengthening the relationship with WorkSafe, and actively pursuing the growth and diversification of funding sources. My enthusiasm for this role stems from the opportunity to apply my expertise and curiosity to advance ISCRR’s mission and impact in the field of injury prevention and rehabilitation research.”

Please join us in welcoming Sarah to the ISCRR team!
